Welcome to the Eyes Do Matter Research Network (EDMRN)

Vision is one of our most precious senses, yet millions of people worldwide continue to experience preventable vision loss from conditions that can often be detected early or treated effectively. Good eye health is fundamental to learning, employment, independence, healthy ageing, and overall quality of life. As populations age and the prevalence of eye diseases such as myopia, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and cataract continues to rise, protecting vision has become an increasingly important public health priority.

The Eyes Do Matter Research Network (EDMRN) is dedicated to advancing eye health through high-quality research, innovation, education, and collaboration. Our mission is to generate and translate scientific evidence that improves the prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of eye disease. By bringing together researchers, clinicians, policymakers, patients, and community partners, we aim to promote evidence-based eye care, reduce avoidable blindness and visual impairment, improve equitable access to vision services, and support better eye health outcomes for individuals and communities both nationally and internationally.
